The purpose of Black Skillet Productions is to provide a creative outlet in the form of short film to otherwise desperately
responsible people who have found themselves in other careers. The inspiration for Black Skillet was the 48 Hour Film Project
(
http://www.48hourfilm.com/). Operating under the "Hey, it's just one weekend" principle, Black Skillet launched it's first contest project in April
2005 with a producer who'd never made a film, a director who'd never directed, an editor who'd never edited and a screenwriter
who'd never had a project produced. The team missed the competition deadline by 33 minutes, but still had their project,
All the Barbaras in the World (a chant-musical), screened. As Black Skillet producer, John Durgavich, explained: "We're just going to have to
turn it in as is!"
Black Skillet hopes to line up other short projects in the coming months.
